Molly Stephenson finds beauty in the simple objects and landscapes of urban life. Drawing from her 20 year background in cosmetics design, she enjoys clean colour palettes alongside rich textures of oil paint.
Growing up between the United States and Australia, Stephenson gained an instinctual sense of place with an eye for detail. With fresh mark making, her paintings capture a sense of ease that invites viewers to imagine the scent of zesty cut lemons or a cool breeze on their skin.
Molly Stephenson is an alumna of Colorado State University, Fort Collins, graduating with a Bachelor of Business in 2011 and she is currently studying her Masters of Visual Arts at the Queensland College of Arts, Meanjin/Brisbane. Her work has been privately collected and exhibited in selected group shows in Brisbane including Paradise Gloss at Side Gallery and the Recovered Futures exhibition at King George Square.
Molly is currently practicing in Meanjin/Brisbane and taking limited commissions.
